"On the east side of the Rump, the new islands' largest landowner hadn't yet heard the news. It was late afternoon and he had just finished rounding up his llamas and putting them in the barn. Though he kept a zoologist and veterinarian on staff, he liked spending as much time with the animals as he could. They were so much more predictable than people. In addition to the llamas, he kept a pair of zebras and four miniature horses on his forty-eight acres. He was in talks to acquire a giraffe, but negotiations were in their early stages."
Work continues on the novel, but slowly. Added only a few thousand words since the last update, averaging probably only two-hundred a day or so.
Still, it's progress. I suspect today is the day that the pirates will make their first appearance . . .
On another front, the anthology I sent The Intersection to closed the other day. Duotrope reports a few acceptances, and rejection after rejection after rejection. Though (as always) I expect the worst, fingers crossed.
Stopped by an Irish pub in downtown St. Pete yesterday called Paddy Burkes for a few pints of Guinness.
Mmm. Guinness . . .

I have a new Guineas t-shirt. Never had the beer, but I love their old print advertisements!
They have awesome t-shirts, and their advertisements are always good! And though I like it a lot, it's kind of heavy and I only drink it on special occasions.
Yeah, heavy beer makes me gag (even if it tastes good). I stick to Asian beers.
Heh. For some reason, I hear it in a Mae West voice: "I like my beer . . . and my men . . ."
Guiness and I have a long and difficult relationship.
Funny, it told me to tell you it misses you. Would very much like to see you again!
